The MCR Group Response to Covid-19

MCR Group would like to advise of the various actions we are taking in order to deal with the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic and how it is affecting our business, our business activities and our staff.

As a large multi disciplinary business providing services across Ireland and the United Kingdom, we are committed to ensuring the utmost safety and welfare of our staff, clients, our clients’ property and the general public at all times.

Our management teams and front line teams on the ground have been entirely dedicated and committed to ensuring that where possible and in line with government directive, we are able to continue to provide a quality service to our clients and their sites during these unprecedented times.

Our Response to the Covid-19 Crisis

Our Covid-19 Response Plan

The MCR Group Senior Management Team have been developing our response plan for Covid-19 since January 2020. This involved purchasing sufficient quantities of PPE and sanitiser in order to be able to continue to provide essential services to our clients. The company also invested heavily in I.T. infrastructure so that the team could continue to function remotely. Our Covid-19 response management team conduct daily meetings remotely with our field management team in order to ensure they are receiving the support they need.

Our Ability to Provide Business Continuity

Our Risk, Compliance, H&S and Operations teams have developed a Business Continuity Plan which is specific to the Covid-19 pandemic. The plan outlines the steps and parameters we have in place to ensure we can continue to provide essential services to our clients, in line with the latest Government directive. A copy of our Business Continuity Plan is available on request.

Our Commitment to Health and Safety

The safety of our staff, clients and the general public is of paramount importance to us. Through our Covid-19 response plan, we have ensured that our people have sufficient PPE, sanitising materials and training in order to ensure they are taking all precautions available to stay safe. Our Covid-19 response team meet remotely on a daily basis to discuss any new HSE advice and field instructions are amended accordingly.

Our Unrivalled Supply Chain

Through our Covid-19 response plan, we have at our disposal a sufficient supply of PPE, sanitiser and other materials intrinsic to our business continuity at this time. Through our excellent client relationships who prioritise our requests, our supplies are replenished regularly and our supply chain is unaffected.

Our Extensive Resources

We are one of the few companies that have the resources to fill requirements nationwide at this time. Our Rostering department are working 24/7. Examples of the services we are supplying to clients in response to Covid-19 includes:

  • Security and carpark operatives for Covid-19 testing centres
  • Manned guarding, alarm monitoring, alarm response and mobile patrols
  • Deep cleaning and sanitisation including the use of eco-static misting
  • Warehouse and logistics operatives for the movement of healthcare supplies and equipment

Essential Front Line Services We Are Providing to Other Essential Businesses

Sanitising and Deep Cleaning Services

Our Industrial Cleaning team are actively providing deep cleaning and sanitising services to clients throughout all industry in Ireland and will continue to do so during this period of extended physical distancing. This ensures vital premises such as some construction sites, factories, grocery stores, pharmacies, pharmaceutical plants, healthcare facilities and transport hubs are able to remain open and safe for people to attend them.

Manned Guarding and Mobile Patrol Services

Our Security Service will remain unaffected by the latest restrictions imposed by the Government as it is an essential service to ensure the safety of staff, the public and property of other essential organisations. All our Security staff have been provided with letters identifying themselves as critical front line workers, thus ensuring that they are able to continue providing a Security presence on our clients’ sites. We also offer mobile patrol services to clients whose businesses have been temporarily forced to closed due to the restrictions in place, our mobile Security staff will attend your site at an agreed frequency to check for break ins, leaks, fire and fire hazards, damage and anti-social behaviour.

Provision of Ad Hoc Staff

Organisations at this time may require additional and ad hoc staff. We can provide trades and labour staff including handymen, plumbers, carpenters and electricians. We are also providing couriers, car park attendants, receptionists, customer service agents, retail staff and mail room staff to keep essential business and organisations functioning during this period of extended restrictions. 

Servicing Door and Dock Equipment

The MCR Engineering team are on hand to continue to service and repair Door and Dock equipment at premises such as transport hubs, manufacturing plants, logistics depots, public buildings, warehouses and plant depots, essential to ensuring Ireland’s supply chain continues to function efficiently.

Hygiene Products and Equipment

The MCR LifeScience Division are available to supply an extensive range of hygiene products and equipment including PPE dispensers and hygiene product dispensers (alcohol, paper towel, gloves and soap). We are a stainless steel and Trespa specialist.
