On behalf of our client, Ireland’s largest building contractor, MCR Group are actively seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Dublin for a confirmed portfolio of residential developments in Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Meath and Wicklow. This company have a wide range of projects including Residential, Commercial, M+E, Industrial and Government. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience in a similar role with exposure to a lot of the above sectors and will have a Quantity Surveying or Construction related degree, come from a strong civils/construction background and be career focused.   • Occasional mentoring of the other Surveyors in the team
  • Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
  • Assisting in establishing the client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
  • Performing risk, value management and cost control
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
  • Allocating work to subcontractors
  • Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments
  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • Implementation/Monitoring of health and safety regulations
  • Assisting with or preparing monthly applications
  • Reviewing weekly productivity of teams
  • Undertaking interim and final valuations for works complete
  • Managing work in progress and ensuring debtors are kept to a minimum


The successful candidate will have:

  • 8+years of experience working within a developer undertaking projects with a value of £50million +.
  • Have significant relevant Quantity Surveying experience preferably with a Construction Contracting Company
  • Possess either a Third Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying or demonstrate significant and high level of experience obtained working in a comparable role
  • Previous experience delivering PPP projects
  • Be able to demonstrate the knowledge and experience required to complete projects under budget taking into consideration difficult time constraints
  • Have an extensive knowledge of construction practices that can be used on site to analyse the design and propose potential cost saving measures
  • Keeping up to date with pricing matrices and inflationary impacts
  • Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Information Technology in general
